How I got here.

Having just wrapped up a successful EVERCON gaming convention in March I was ready to kick back and unwind with a good book, however sadly I chose wrong. Not only wrong, but DREADFULLY bad-wrong. I'm a slow reader, and honestly I have issues with focus and distractions so I invested several hours into a story that turned out to be less relaxing and fun, and more being confusing and pointless. At least that's how it felt to me.

Out of respect for the author I'd rather not share their name or the book they wrote. Fact is, it was likely my small brain that couldn't comprehend the message or path the author was taking, and that's ok. Not every method of media will work it's magic with every consumer.

But after I read the last page I slammed it down and sighed, "Damn, that was awful. I could write a better book." My wife turned to me and said "Then do it!" I chuckled to myself then briefly squinted back at her. "You know what? Maybe I will!" And voila here we are!

The first thing I had to come up with was a plot. Now I've written a few short gaming campaigns for role playing games, and have had a few friends tell me the stories were great. So I thought, why not start there? I cracked open a bunch of old notes and sketch books I have been doodling in for decades and came up with a pretty fun amalgam of situations and stories. One of which I had a group of gamers attempt not once, but TWICE! Both times, failing at different points.

Since my friends were too stupid to complete the adventures, why not write about it to finally finish the story?

Now at this point I'm fully aware the book has yet to be released yet, but I'm excited to share some insight on what the next steps are as we journey forward on this first book!

I wrote for 75 days straight, got around 78,000 words and gathered as many brilliant individuals as possible for beta and proof reading. After 45 days I got tons of feedback and edits for the story. I spent another 45 days working on all that.

I also sent the first manuscript to the incredibly talented Dan Biesel for some illustration sketches as well as a cover, and OMFG, they're all incredible! I can't wait for you guys to see 'em when you finally crack open the FINISHED PRODUCT!!

After this final (I titled it FINAL_MANUSCRIPT_FOR_REAL09092026(4)FORREAL.pdf) round of edits, it's down to just 73,000 words! Which means, I trimmed off over FIVE THOUSAND WORDS!! Egadz!

The eBook is READY, the paperback is in the process of approval. We're also working on a cover for the hard cover edition. OH! And the audiobook is currently in the works by the INCREDIBLY talented Klaus von Hohenloe!

The goal was by Halloween. So we'll see how that all shakes out!

I'm glad you're here, I'm excited to share my daydreams with you, and I'm stoked to go on some adventures with you! Stay tuned!!
